There may be some debate over the need to take vitamin supplements. Some may argue that all the vitamins we need can be found in the foods we eat; others may counter that the only way to get the doses we need to stay healthy require supplements. The one thing that isn’t debatable is that fact that to stay healthy our bodies require the fortification of vitamins. With that in mind here’s a healthy reminder of what vitamins do to keep us strong.
The immune system is assisted in its creation of antibodies by Vitamin B. This powerful vitamin helps protect us from infections and illnesses. The Vitamin which best helps boost our immunity from the flu and colds is good old Vitamin C. But to keep the entire immune system working well, Vitamins A, E and zinc are also necessary.

If you’ve been feeling blue then get out in the sun. Studies have shown the positive effects of Vitamin D in improving the brain processes that affect our moods and emotional well-being. Vitamin D is found in foods and supplements, but the body actually creates this vitamin on its own when it is directly exposed to the sun.
Folic Acid helps build healthy new cells and particularly beneficial to pregnant women in suppressing post natal depression. It also helps prevent Spina Bifida if taken early on in pregnancy. Folic acid is found naturally in green leafy vegetables, oranges and bananas.
Vitamin A helps our eyes adjust to light levels. It can be found in eggs and cheddar cheese. You can store Vitamin A in your body for months at a time.
